PUBLIC NOTICE TO WATER CUSTOMERS NOTICE OF DRINKING WATER VIOLATION
Failure to Maintain Certified Operator at Appropriate Certification Level The Town of Center is providing this notice to inform our water customers that we recently received a violation from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for Failure to Maintain a Certified Operator at the Appropriate Certification Level for our public water system. This violation was administrative in nature and was related to operator certification requirements. The violation did not affect the quality or safety of the Town’s drinking water, and there is no need for customers to boil water or take any other corrective actions. The Town of Center would like to assure all residents and customers that: All required water quality testing has continued to be performed. The Town’s drinking water has remained in compliance with applicable state and federal drinking water standards. There has been no known risk to public health associated with this violation. The Town has taken corrective action to address the issue. Effective July 1, 2026, the Town of Center hired a new Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) who meets the certification requirements for the Town’s water system. In addition, the Town has submitted updated operator contact information and certification documentation to CDPHE to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Town of Center is committed to providing safe, reliable drinking water and maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations.
