Chief of Police

Description and Salary

  • Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Police Department in law enforcement and crime prevention. 
  • Working Chief position. 
  • Full-time.
  • FLSA exempt. 
  • Salary range $50,000 to $65,000 annually. 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities is qualifying; typical education, but is not required would include a BS/BA in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Criminal Justice. 
  • Typical experience would include five years of relevant progressively responsible command/management experience in a law enforcement agency. 

 
Requirements

  • Must possess a POST Certificate. 
  • Must possess valid Colorado driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record. 
  • Must sign a waiver for the Town of Center to obtain ALL information from previous employers. 
  • Must pass background, drug and psychological tests.
